Locus Solus is an album of improvisations by John Zorn and other musicians. Originally released as a double vinyl album on Rift records in 1983 it was re-released as a CD with additional tracks on Eva/Wave in 1990 and on Zorn's Tzadik Records label in 1997.

While the noise rock scene in Japan is considered ground zero for that kind of thing, it seems like LOCUS SOLUS is the epicenter that reverberated across the world. The first eight tracks feature Peter Blegvad on vocals although they are so processed and distorted that it sounds like a manic robot.

Locus Solus is a double album, featuring four distinct sides of music, each side played by a different trio. Side one is played by John Zorn (brass), Christian Marclay (turntables) and Peter Blegvad (vocals, with a history in the RIO scene) and displays a kind of incendiary concrète/noise/free-jazz which verges on the cartoonish.
