Terraferma is a 2011 Italian drama film directed by Emanuele Crialese, who co-wrote the screenplay with Vittorio Moroni. The film chronicles the intensification of the refugee crisis in Insular Italy in the beginning of the 2010's.
Terraferma es un film de Emanuele Crialese que narra la historia de una familia que vive en una isla cercana a Sicilia y que se enfrenta a la llegada de inmigrantes africanos. La película ganó el premio especial del jurado en el Festival de Venecia y fue nominada a varios David di Donatello.
Sinopsis. En una pequeña isla del archipiélago siciliano, sobrevive una familia formada por Filippo, un joven de 19 años, su abuelo pescador y su viuda madre. Ya nadie vive de la pesca y ellos mismos tendrán que resignarse y comenzar una nueva vida.
