On the strength of Our Earthly Pleasures the rise and fall of Maximo Park has been swifter than an elevator ride in the Empire State Building. If it wasn't for the name on the sleeve and Paul Smith's broad north-eastern accent you could be forgiven for thinking this was just a lifeless tribute band.
