Hatch is the son of composer and Disney percussionist Earl Hatch and Disney percussionist Carol Hatch (née Culp). He is best known for his role as the original bass guitarist in the '80s new wave band Oingo Boingo, which he was part of from 1979 to 1984.

Kerry Earl Hatch was born in Los Angeles, California on August 10th, 1948 and is a landscaping contractor and former bassist who performed with Oingo Boingo from 1979 to 1984. His parents, Earl Hatch and Carol Hatch, were Disney percussionists. He attended North Hollywood High School.
