German group formed in Düsseldorf in 1970. Formerly known as Organisation, Kraftwerk debuted live as the trio of Ralf Hütter, Florian Schneider-Esleben and Charly Weiss at the Tivoli Popfestival, Aachen on 11 July 1970. Klaus Dinger then took over as drummer.
The band's work has influenced a diverse range of artists and many genres of modern music, including synth-pop, hip hop, post-punk, techno, house music, ambient, and club music. [1] In 2014, the Recording Academy honoured Kraftwerk with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. [2]
As I say, Houschäng Nejadépour is unleashed on this album in an impressive display of guitar pyrotechnics. On the opening two tracks he channels Hendrix extremely convincingly and "The Girl From Hirschhorn" is easily the best thing released under the Guru Guru name since "Der Elektrolurch".
