Headmaster’s Welcome. Since 1901, when the College was founded by the Salesians of Don Bosco, Salesian College has maintained and developed a reputation as a school whose students achieve at the highest level, whilst remaining grounded in a firm foundation of Christian love.

In 1956 work began on the present Blackburn Building. It provided ten new classrooms, a new hall, gymnasium and changing rooms. In 1963 new laboratories and a lecture hall were built alongside the new school. Salesian College finally became an independent grammar school in 1966.
At Salesian College the staff are dedicated to the academic, cultural, spiritual, physical and emotional development of each student. It is hoped to achieve this through the Preventive System based on the principles of reason, religion and kindness.
