Strong Poison is a 1930 mystery novel by Dorothy L. Sayers, her fifth featuring Lord Peter Wimsey and the first in which Harriet Vane appears.
Lord Peter is in court as murder charges are brought against Harriet Vane for poisoning her ex lover with arsenic, and he's convinced that something is wrong with the charge. He seems to have a soft spot for Harriet and vows to discover the necessary evidence to prove her innocence.
