  2. In 1944, as a consequence of the Butler Act, the School became the West Hartlepool Grammar School for Boys. In 1973, under the re-organisation of secondary education in the town. it became the Upper School of Brinkburn Comprehensive School.

  3. It was originally known as West Hartlepool Grammar School (also known as Brinkburn Grammar School) from 1902. The Girls' High School opened on Eldon Grove in 1912, and the school became a boys' school. It then became the Upper School of Brinkburn Comprehensive School in 1973.

  4. The club formed after the Great War in 1921 as Technical Old Boys and at one stage they amalgamated with West to become West Tech. However, they reverted back to Secondary School Old Boys (SSOB) and following the Second World War became the very successful Grammar School Old Boys.

  5. 26 de sept. de 2014 · In 1968 Hartlepool Grammar School admitted the last cadre of boys completing the 11 Plus examination. The following year Hartlepool Grammar School became Brinkburn Comprehensive. The "Lost Boys" refers to those who were admitted as grammar school boys but graduated as comprehensive school boys.
