Wasps' Nests is the 1995 debut album by the 6ths, a side-project created by Stephin Merritt of the Magnetic Fields. Merritt wrote and recorded the album, inviting different vocalists to sing lead. Like the band's name, the album title is a tongue-twister.
Manning sings "San Diego Zoo", the opening track on the 1995 album Wasps' Nests by Stephin Merritt's side project The 6ths. Her cover of Marianne Faithfull's "The Shalala Song" can be heard in Jon Moritsugu's 1994 film Mod Fuck Explosion.
7 de mar. de 2020 · 1995's Wasps' Nests (both the artist name and album title apparently selected because they were all but impossible to pronounce), despite having a different singer for each track, is surprisingly cohesive, held together by Merritt's always-inventive lyrics and post-New Wave guitar and synth pop.
"Wasps' Nests" (the title is also a lisper's nightmare) is the 6ths' first full-length album.-Barbara Manning, recording albums with 28th Day, World Of Pooh and her band the San Francisco Seals, as well as a handful of solo records.
