A British blues and R&B influenced rock band formed in Birmingham in 1963 by Spencer Davis and the Winwood brothers. They had several UK and US hits, such as "Keep on Running" and "Gimme Some Lovin'", before splitting up in 1969 and reforming twice.

Spencer Davis (1939-2020) was a rock and pop singer and guitarist who led the Spencer Davis Group, a band that had several hits in the 1960s. He also worked as an A&R executive for Island Records and formed other musical groups in later years.
