Nigel Waymouth (born 1941) is a designer and artist, a co-partner in the boutique, Granny Takes a Trip, and one of the two-man team, Hapshash and the Coloured Coat, which designed psychedelic posters in the 1960s. He has since had a solo career, including portrait painting.
Nigel Waymouth was born in India in 1941 but his early childhood was spent in Argentina. In 1954 he moved to England, where he completed his education at University College London. In February 1966 he launched the now legendary King’s Road boutique, Granny Takes a Trip, for which he designed clothes as well as the regularly changing shopfronts that were it’s signature feature.

Designer & Artist. Nigel Waymouth, who was born in 1941, is a British artist noted for his work on poster art and portraiture. The son of a Wing-Commander in the Royal Air Force, Waymouth was born in India where his father Trevor had been posted during the Second World War.

Hapshash and the Coloured Coat was an influential British graphic design and avant-garde musical partnership in the late 1960s, consisting of Michael English and Nigel Waymouth. It produced popular psychedelic posters, and two albums of underground music.
