Christian Tritsch moved to guitar and was replaced on bass by former Magma member Francis Moze, while the band's sound was expanded with the addition of synthesizer player Tim Blake .
A stable line-up of the band, now named Gong, eventually materialised featuring Didier Malherbe (sax and reeds), Christian Tritsch (bass), and Pip Pyle (drums), along with Allen (glissando guitar, vocals) and Smyth (space whisper, vocals).

Profile: Christian Tritsch (born 1944) was the bass guitarist with Gong from 1970 to 1973. Christian Tritsch called himself The Submarine Captain when performing in Gong.
11 de ene. de 2022 · Allen and Smyth assembled a new Gong lineup with Malherbe, bassist Christian Tritsch, and drummer Rachid Houari. Gong (minus an unprepared Tritsch) recorded their first album during September and October at the Paris studios ETA and Europa Sonor.
