Magnus Doyle was the drummer for the British bands Pulp and The Midnight Choir and is the brother of long-term Pulp keyboardist, Candida Doyle .
He was set to break up the band and go to university himself before a practice with Russell Senior (violin, guitar, vocals) and Magnus Doyle (drums) led to the establishment of a new, more experimental, artier and noisier direction for Pulp.

13 de jun. de 2023 · Featuring, for the first time, long-serving members Magnus Doyle on drums, his sister Candida on keys, and Russell Senior on guitar and violin, Pulp became an almost entirely new band due to most of the original members having left to go to university.
Magnus Doyle was the drummer for the British bands Pulp and The Midnight Choir and is the brother of long-term Pulp keyboardist, Candida Doyle. He was an active member of the band between 1984 and 1987 appearing on all the recordings during this period.
Before this happened Jarvis, Russell, and Magnus Doyle got together for a practise and developed a new direction for Pulp to take. Magnus' friend Peter Mansell and Tim Allcard joined the band and this new Pulp played their first concert at Brunel University which was less than successful as they were appearing in place of a rugby songs band.
British indie rock/Britpop band founded in 1978 in Sheffield. Sole constant member is Jarvis Cocker who formed the band while at school, and led the band through a series of stylistic changes and numerous band members until finding success and a stable lineup by the early 90s. They split in 2002, and reformed in 2011 for a series of reunion concerts before going on hiatus again in 2013.
