Emil Schult (born 10 October 1946) is a German painter, poet and audio-visual artist. Biography. After studying Sinology in Münster, Schult joined the Academy of Art in Düsseldorf in 1969 to study Fine Arts in the printmaking class of Dieter Roth, and later in the painting classes of Joseph Beuys and Gerhard Richter.

He is also probably the only former member who never had legal quarries with the notoriously secretive bandleaders Ralph Schneider and Florian Hütter. Schult met the two when he went to Art School in Düsseldorf where he studied Fine Arts
With Emil Schult working on artwork and lyrics, Kraftwerk began to compose music for the new record. Even though Radio-Activity was less commercially successful than Autobahn in the UK and United States, the album served to open up the European market for Kraftwerk, earning them a gold disc in France.
