Raine's Foundation School was a Church of England voluntary aided school based on two sites in Bethnal Green in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, England.
Raine's School Foundation is a registered charity that supports education and local community in the East End of London. It was founded in 1719 by Henry Raine, a wealthy brewer and churchman, and has a legacy of providing bursaries and scholarships.
In 1719, Henry Raine founded Raine's Foundation School to provide an education for local poor children (50 boys and 50 girls). When Henry Raine died in 1738, he left in his Will a large bequest to the boys and girls schools he had founded during his lifetime.
RAINE'S FOUNDATION SCHOOLS. In or about 1719 (fn. 1) Henry Raine (1679-1738), a London brewer, founded free schools in Fawdon Fields (fn. 2) for 50 boys and 50 girls of the parish of St. George, Wapping. A deed (fn. 3) of 1736 conveying these schools and other property to 46 trustees also sets out Raine's rules for his charity.

Celebrating 300 years. Raine's celebrated its Tercentenary on 8th May 2019 at St Paul's Cathedral. An evensong service to celebrate our Foundation was very well attended by current and past students and teachers.
