The William Esper Studio was founded in 1965 as a school for the performing arts in Manhattan, New York. The school is dedicated to the acting technique of Sanford Meisner. Its founder, William "Bill" Esper, is occasionally referred to as the best-known of Meisner's first generation teachers.
Founded by legendary acting teacher William Esper, the Studio has trained a large number of accomplished professional actors who are active in Film, Television and Theatre. Also contributing to this reputation is a passionate, involved student body and a faculty of dedicated master teachers.

The Two-year Core Program consists of three classes: Acting, Movement, and Voice & Speech. Each class meets twice per week, for a total of 13 hours of class time. Payment for the Core Program may be made in full or broken down into three installments.
The William Esper Studio offers one of the most comprehensive training programs in the country for professional actors, and is considered the foremost studio dedicated to Meisner-based actor training. If you are interested in applying, please note the Studio’s application requirements carefully.
The Summer Intensive is designed to introduce actors to the methods of training employed by the Studio, built on the foundations of the Meisner Technique. For students who wish to continue their training in the Fall or Winter, it provides a strong send-off for the Two Year Program.
