Matthew Louis Pence (born April 13, 1972) is an American recording engineer, producer, and drummer. He owns and manages The Echo Lab studio in Denton, Texas . [2] [3]
Matthew plays in the band Tre Orsi, and used to play in the band Little Grizzly. He is FOH engineer for Superchunk, Bob Mould, Destroyer, and The New Year, and has toured with the Dodos, The New Pornographers, Shearwater, John Vanderslice, St. Vincent, and many others.
Recorded at Echo Lab Studios in Denton, Texas, the band self-produced The Wilder Blue with experienced engineer Matt Pence (Paul Cauthen, Shakey Graves). A true collaborative effort, The Wilder Blue is a genuine democracy where ideas, constructive criticism, and value is demanded by all parties.

Pence produced the forthcoming 2020 record by John Moreland, called LP5, which will feature contributions from Centro-matic's Will Johnson, as well as Bonnie Whitmore and Moreland's long-time bandmate, John Calvin Abney.
