Evolution is not as complicated to understand at a basic level as many people think. It's basically small changes in a population over time. What is hard, even nearly impossible for some to grasp is just how much time is involved. 4.5 billion years of Earth's existence is almost unfathomable.
Regarding evolution, it's just a process that says "the fittest survive", so in a given population those who fit best will produce offspring, which will inherit the same traits and also fit better. Slight correction here, this is evolution by natural selection.
/r/evolution doesn't deal with debunking creationist rhetoric. If you think creationism is right and we're wrong and you want to tell us all about it, then this is not the place for that.
