The band led by famous British clarinettist and Dixieland master Sid Phillips is the subject of Vocalion CDVS 1949. Sid, who died in 1973, would have been one-hundred in 2007, and Vocalion's compilation of his best early 1950s HMV recordings serves as a fitting tribute to this master musician.
