Here's why Weezer gets hate-- 1)They are highly inconsistent, 2) They have not lived up to their potential (which is very sad), 3) They are 50 year olds whose target audience are now 13 year olds and 4) They never truly found their musical identity (pop vs rock).

21 de feb. de 2021 · To be clear, I ranked every individual Weezer song that I could find on Spotify. I didn't include bonuses from Pinkerton Deluxe (unless they were real songs, e.g. Getting Up and Leaving or Long Time Sunshine), I didn't include remixes (except the Jacked Up remix, since it's the only one on an album), I didn't include Spotify Sessions, or any Christmas songs (barring The Christmas Song).
22 de abr. de 2021 · Weezer’s always been goofy and have been able to joke about themselves. They did a video for Pork And Beans in 2008 that featured a bunch of (then) huge internet celebrities. To promote their album Hurley in 2010, they had a campaign where (then) big internet celebrities made a video to advertise it.

And if we're talking about about the ratio of good albums to bad albums, then I'd say it's way more stacked to good than bad and Hurley is their only truly bad album. Others may have less than desirable tracks or kinda boring, but they have redeeming qualities.
My favorite Weezer song. In short, I love how unafraid Rivers is to be so blatantly, humanly flawed. I, too, have projected every desire of mine (companionship, love, intimacy) onto somebody during a period of profound loneliness. He even lived across the sea. I was delighted to get his letter; it was as close as I ever thought I’d be to him.
