KC and The Sunshine Band is een Amerikaanse discoband opgericht in 1973 door Harry Wayne Casey en Richard Finch. Casey, die deeltijds werkzaam was bij het platenlabel TK, werd voorgesteld aan geluidstechnicus Finch. Dit was het begin van hun muzikale samenwerking.
KC and the Sunshine Band ist eine US-amerikanische Discoband aus Florida, die Contemporary R&B mit Funk und Latin Grooves zu Partymusik im Miami Sound mischte.. Sie wurde in der zweiten Hälfte der 1970er-Jahre vor allem durch ihre Hits Get Down Tonight, That’s the Way (I Like It), (Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty, I’m Your Boogie Man, Keep It Comin’ Love und Please Don’t Go bekannt.

KC & The Sunshine Band became the first act to score four #1 pop singles in one 12-month period since the Beatles in 1964. Three of those singles crossed over to become #1 R&B, as well. KC’s third album, PART 3, released in 1976, also went triple platinum and contained the #1 singles I’M YOUR BOOGIE MAN, SHAKE YOUR BOOTY and KEEP IT COMIN’ LOVE.
