Raymond Mathewson Hood (March 29, 1881 - August 14, 1934) was an American architect who worked in the Art Deco style. Life and career. Hood was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and attended Brown University before enrolling at MIT. As a post-graduate, Hood worked as a draftsman at the Gothic architecture firm Cram, Goodhue and Ferguson in Boston.

Raymond Mathewson Hood fue un arquitecto quien trabajó en el estilo art decó a principios y mediados del siglo XX. Nació en Pawtucket, Rhode Island, y estudió en la Universidad Brown, el Instituto Tecnológico de Massachusetts, y la École des Beaux-Arts en París. En esta última institución conoció a John Mead Howells, con quien Hood posteriormente se asoció.
Hood failed his first attempt at the entrance exam in October 1904 though he was accepted after his second attempt in 1905.
