Chungking Express has boundless energy, revels in repetition and is quite simply one of the most absorbing films ever made.This may be the only film made by director Wong Kar-wai that I have ever enjoyed (with the possible exception of Fallen Angels, released in 1995), and it is because whatever stylisation takes place always serves to propel the story forward.
