Rusty Day (December 29, 1945 - June 3, 1982) was a rock vocalist and frontman, best known for his work with The Amboy Dukes and Cactus (3). Born in Garden City, MI, USA, murdered at the age of 36 years on June 3,1982 at his house, 173 Parsons Road, Longwood, Florida, by an intruder with a Thompson submachine gun.

Rusty Day Biography by Jason Ankeny. Best known for his tenure as a member of Ted Nugent's Amboy Dukes, Rusty Day and backing band the Midnighters enjoyed great success on the local club circuit during the mid-'60s, issuing the single "I Gotta Move #1" in 1966. Three years later Day joined the Amboy Dukes, making his debut with the group on its third album, Migration.
