In fact, in comparison to the Hip-o Records Muddy Waters Classic Concerts and Rounder DVD Muddy Waters In Concert 1971, this is a poor release. What you have here is a direct VHS transfer of Muddy Waters performing at Chicagofest '81.

Recorded live from WBEZ FM, Chicago's National Public Radio station.Broadcast on NPR's Jazz Alive program, hosted by Billy Taylor.This was the fourth set of the evening's Jazz Alive broadcast. This evening of the festival was titled Chicago Jazz Prism.Thanks to Mark Rabin for this recording.
ChicagoFest. In the summer of ’78, thousands converged upon a rickety Navy Pier for the first annual ChicagoFest. The festival lineup included Journey, Muddy Waters, and dozens of others. Tickets were a mere $3.50 in advance and $4 dollars at the gate, which at the time seemed like a lot considering how much corporate sponsorship was involved.
