Michael Legge was born on December 11, 1978, in Newry, Ireland. He has appeared in a number of stage, film, television and radio roles. He may be best known for playing the teenaged Frank McCourt in Alan Parker's 1999 film, Angela's Ashes. He also played another LImerick character in Cowboys and Angels, and also appeared on Shameless as Tom O'Leary. Michael attended St. Colman's College, Newry.
