13 de may. de 2018 · Lo cierto es que el puente Golden Gate recibe el nombre con el que John Fremont bautizó en 1846 al estrecho que da paso a la Bahía de San Francisco. Aunque la verdad es que Fremont no fue muy original ya que, tradicionalmente al estrecho del Bósforo ya se le conocía con el nombre de “la Puerta dorada”.
26 de abr. de 2019 · El 21 de julio de 1936 se iniciaron las estructuras de viaductos de San Francisco y la construcción del arco de Fort Point. Finalmente el 18 de noviembre de 1936 se unieron las dos secciones del tramo principal del puente Golden Gate en el centro, y se ofició una breve ceremonia entre personas de la zona de San Francisco y Marin.

The Golden Gate is a strait on the west coast of North America that connects San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean. It is defined by the headlands of the San Francisco Peninsula and the Marin Peninsula, and, since 1937, has been spanned by the Golden Gate Bridge.The entire shoreline and adjacent waters throughout the strait are managed by the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
