Little Charlie & The Nightcats. Sacramento, California. The astounding guitarist Little Charlie Baty and harmonica ace, songwriter and vocalist Rick Estrin were the leaders of this jumping, swinging band. They broke out of the Bay Area in 1987 and toured worldwide for 20 years, winning fans with their brilliant chops, wild shows and infectious original songs.
Sacramento-based blues, swing and jump masters Little Charlie & The Nightcats had much in common with their feline counterparts. They took great (musical) leaps and always landed on their feet, they were constantly on the prowl (gigging all over the world), and, with all of the various styles of music they played, they seemed to have many lives.
