Andy Irons est retrouvé mort le 2 novembre 2010 dans une chambre d'hôtel de Dallas, où il faisait escale après une hospitalisation à Miami avant de rallier Hawaï. Âgé de 32 ans, il décède d'un infarctus du myocarde dans un contexte d’intoxication aiguë à plusieurs drogues dont la méthamphétamine (une drogue faisant des ravages à Hawaï) et la cocaïne [2].
