13 de sept. de 2023 · Saga’s Welsh-born vocalist and keyboardist Michael Sadler offered Prog a rundown of his life and times in 2016. They’d recently released 21st studio album Sagacity; they went on to deliver follow-up Symmetry in 2021.
Willis Michael Sadler MC MM (22 February 1920 – 4 January 2024) was a British Army officer. He was the last original member of the Special Air Service and one of the last survivors of the Long Range Desert Group (survived by Jack Mann who also served in the LRDG). [1] [2] [3]
Biografie. Michael Sadler arbeitete ursprünglich als Zeichner in einem Grafik-Studio. Zusammen mit Jim Crichton, Steve Negus und Peter Rochon gründete er 1977 die Gruppe The Pockets in Toronto, Kanada als Vorläufer von Saga. Sadler ist als charismatischer Sänger Mittelpunkt der Band. Als Multiinstrumentalist spielt er auch Bass und Keyboard.
Michael Sadler biography In 1977, taxi driver MICHAEL SADLER met with humble beginnings penning songs with friend JIM CRICHTON after his shifts. Later that year they formed the Canadian band SAGA, to great international acclaim. MICHAEL is well-known for the classical influence in his vocal technique, most clearly displayed in early Saga albums (of which he also played some bass guitar!).
