STRAIGHT SHOOTER is one of the more melodic James Gang albums, but it does it with a funky edge at times, and in terms of the range of styles, it fits in perfectly with the Joe Walsh-era albums. Really, the only song on the entire album that is "slight" is "Hairy Hypochondriac," but that's meant to be a funny song, and as such it works ...

19 de nov. de 2006 · As for PASSIN' THRU, while some prefer it to STRAIGHT SHOOTER, I don't, but that's mainly because I find STRAIGHT SHOOTER to be one of the best James Gang albums of all-time -- coming in after RIDES AGAIN and maybe tied with THIRDS. But PASSIN' THRU has nothing to embarrass it.
