The Essential Rivers is a very good compilation. The only song it lacks and thus keeps it from being perfect, is the absence of "Swayin' To The Music (Slow Dancin')" from 1977. But since this compilation is only inclusive up to 1975, that great song is not on this CD.

Ok, I am one of those baby boomers and recently bought a new GM vehicle with the XM radio in it. They play a lot of Johnny Rivers music on the 60's station and I got hooked on Johnny Rivers again. So, I bought this for the car without the XM radio. I like the "twang" in Johnny's singing and this is a good selection of his best hits.
