12 de ene. de 2007 · I grew up totally crazy for David Bowie - and loved Mick Ronson's work with Bowie. Had his two solo albums when they came out in 1974 and 1975. Then 1993 came along and we lost him. The "Heaven and Hull" CD was released after his death. A year to the day after Mick passed, the "Mick Ronson Memorial Concert" was held.

Michael Ronson (26 May 1946 – 29 April 1993) was an English musician, songwriter, arranger, and producer. He achieved critical and commercial success working with David Bowie as the guitarist of the Spiders from Mars.He was a session musician who recorded five studio albums with Bowie followed by four with Ian Hunter, and also worked as a sideman in touring bands with Van Morrison and Bob Dylan.
Mick Ronson starb am 29. April 1993 im Alter von nur 46 Jahren an Leberkrebs. Insbesondere in seiner Heimatstadt Hull ist er unvergessen, dort wurde ihm zu Ehren eine Bühne, die „Mick Ronson Memorial Stage“, errichtet. Der Rolling Stone listete Ronson 2011 auf Rang 41 der 100 größten Gitarristen aller Zeiten.

He remained tight lipped for the most part, saying that he really shouldn't talk about it, but might one day. The only clue he gave was that there was somebody involved in the show preventing his appearance, (not physically of course).
