St. Bonaventure Bonnies men's soccer plays against the Charlotte 49ers men's soccer team in 2013. St. Bonaventure is an NCAA Division I member of the Atlantic 10 Conference and offers 19 varsity athletic programs. The school's programs are known as the Bonnies. The men's team has reached the NCAA men's basketball tournament a total of 8 times, most recently in the 2020–2021 season.

St Bonaventure’s has a long and distinguished history. Our school has been providing the very best education for Roman Catholic boys in this area since before 1875. The school was founded on its current site in 1877 by the Franciscan Friars, making St Bonaventure’s one of the oldest Catholic boys’ schools in the country – only the London Oratory is older.

On July 15, the Church celebrates the Memorial of St. Bonaventure, who is one of my absolute favorite saints and theologians. I would like to reflect on my personal background with St. Bonaventure as well as offer some information about his life, work, and influence.
