Procol Harum - Live (DVD) 150 minutes of Procol Harum from Classic Pictures. It's a great pleasure to have this long-dreamed-of Procol Harum release to review: and though there are one or two criticisms of the product in what follows, nobody should feel deterred from buying it.
Much of the Procol catalog lends itself to orchestral presentation, a road taken quite a few times over the years, most famously when the group connived with the Edmonton Symphony to make a hit out of Conquistador in 1972. The most recent example is this here DVD (and shorter CD), recorded in 2006 upon the grounds of some vast Danish estate.

Bandgeschichte. Die meisten der Musiker, die sich später bei Procol Harum zusammenfanden, hatten schon zuvor als The Paramounts einige Beat- und Rhythm-and-Blues-Singles aufgenommen.. Gary Brooker und Keith Reid gründeten Procol Harum 1967. Der Bandname soll durch die Falschschreibung aufgrund der telefonischen Übermittlung eines Katzennamens „Procul Harum“ entstanden sein.
