Jean-Michel Basquiat (New York, 1960 - 1988) è stato un artista americano, tra i più importanti esponenti del graffitismo, associato anche al neoespressionismo.Il livello di espressione e di contenuto dei suoi graffiti è stato considerato così elevato da passare dai muri delle strade di New York direttamente nelle sale dei musei, così come per altri “writer” come Keith Haring.
