El primer logotipo fue creado por Denis Wilcocks, gerente de Crowes Art Studio, en 1977. El logotipo actual fue diseñado por Steve Harris, el bajista.

It fully corresponds to the heavy metal style because: consists of geometric letters with sharp transitions; has sharp angles and rigid cuts; maintained in an aggressive and technical style; painted in provocatively red color.
The logo was created by the bassist and leader of the band Steve Harris. This design was last used in their tenth album, The X Factor (1995), but was later brought back for their sixteenth album, The Book of Souls (2015) and it is the main logo since then. 1998–2015.

The origins of Iron Maiden’s logo can be traced back to their self-titled debut album, released in 1980. Designed by artist Derek Riggs, the logo features a menacing figure known as “Eddie,” the band’s mascot, with his elongated face and menacing eyes.
