He holds two M.A. degrees in Biblical Exegesis and Systematic Theology from Wheaton College. He is a MSt candidate at the University of Oxford, beginning in the Fall of 2020.

Historically pastors have been the primary theologians of the church, but we have lost sight of this vision: “What was once normative—theologians as pastors—is now novel” (pg 23, emphasis original).
Book Summary. Far too often, there is a stark divide between the academy and the ministry of the church, between pastors and theologians. Gerald Hiestand and Todd Wilson offer a rallying cry to a new generation of church leaders and show the promising ways in which one can embody the calling of a “pastor theologian” for the good of the church.
About This Book. The roles of pastor and theologian have gone their separate ways. Throughout much of the church's history, these two roles have been deeply intertwined, but in our contemporary setting, a troubling bifurcation between them has developed. The result has been a theologically weakened church and an ecclesially weakened theology.
