The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack est le premier album du groupe britannique de rock The Nice.Il est sorti en 1968 sur le label Immediate Records.. Il est généralement considéré comme l'un des albums précurseurs du rock progressif.Le « Emerlist Davjack » du titre est un mot-valise composé à partir du nom de famille des quatre musiciens du groupe.

Bandgeschichte The Nice bei ihrem vorletzten Konzert Ostern 1970 in Hamburg. Nach einem Auftritt beim Windsor Blues Festival bekamen sie schon bald einen Plattenvertrag von Immediate angeboten. Im Herbst 1967 wurde daraufhin ihr Debütalbum The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack eingespielt, das Anfang 1968 erschien. Das Album ist sehr an die Orgelmusik von Johann Sebastian Bach angelehnt.
