The show was a co-production between Central Television and Revcom Télévision and ran for six episodes in 1987.
When her father is paralysed in a terrible mining accident, Polly is sent to live with her strict and starchy aunt (Susan Jameson) near Wellow in Nottinghamshire, where she meets Old Mazy (Don Henderson) – “the Catcher” -and discovers the secret of Grimstone – a mediaeval village that disappeared 400 years ago.
