Profile: Stomu Yamashta's Go started in 1975 as a 3-way collaboration project which issued its debut release under the name "Stomu Yamash'ta / Steve Winwood / Michael Shrieve - Go", a concept album based on the oriental game. After the success of that album further releases were issued under the guise of "Stomu Yamashta's Go".
I had no idea what to expect from this album, Stomu Yamashta’s Go – Live From Paris. Go is the first album by the rock music supergroup Stomu Yamashta’s Go. Recorded at Island Studios in London in February 1976 it was released on Island Records in April of the same year.

Stomu Yamash'ta is a Japanese percussionist, keyboardist, composer and experimental artist. He is probably best known for his work leading the jazz-rock fusion group Go, which released three albums in 1976-77. Yamash'ta was born March 15, 1947 in Kyoto. He studied at the Kyoto Academy of Music and made his solo concert debut at the age of 16.
