Synopsis. They were after silver and they struck gold. Financial wizard “Doc” Fletcher is sent by crime boss Joe Fiore to buy a bank in Switzerland in order to more easily launder their profits. When he arrives, Fletcher finds that the bank, acquired by his associate Prince di Siracusa, consists of some shabby offices above a restaurant.
This is one of those movies that obviously the actors took for a working trip, expenses paid, to an exotic place, a staple of 70's cinema. The exotic locations can only hold the interest so much, and after a while, I just couldn't wait for the film to end. 4/10. 60 million dollars and no sense.

The funny kind of comedy and not the oddball, awkward, stilted style that makes up the 1st hour of Silver Bears. Suddenly Michael Caine has purpose, suddenly Tom Smothers has a foil, suddenly we don't have to rely on nervous Jay Leno and sleepwalking Louis Jourdan and off in his own world David Warner and any other working actor speaking at a high-pitched voice to imitate comedy.

But "Silver Bears" lacks the lightness it needs. Warning: the movie uses the freedom of the seventies to indulge in some unnecessarily crude language; one shot of female abuse at the hand of usually gentlemanly Jourdan; and a shot of the naked backsides of aging mob bosses, offensive to anyone who likes good physiques.
