3 de jul. de 2020 · English artist John Everett Millais (1829-1896) began painting Ophelia in 1851—just three years after he, William Holman Hunt, and Dante Gabriel Rossetti co-founded the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.. From a young age, Millais was trained as a traditional painter. At just eleven years old, he became the youngest student admitted to the prestigious Royal Academy Schools.

19 de dic. de 2019 · L’Ophelia by Sir John Everett Millais è stata analizzata per bene nel 1967. Quell’anno lo strato di tela presente sul retro del quadro è stato rimosso. Gli esperti hanno notato subito il marchio di Charles Roberson (l’uomo da cui il pittore ha acquistato le 2 tele).
