30 de oct. de 2023 · On December 2, 1985 Gambino underboss Aniello Dellacroce died of cancer. Immediately after his death, Castellano decided to appoint Bilotti as the new underboss. News of the Bilotti promotion, along with a perceived slight to the Dellacroce family by Castellano, stirred up considerable anger in the family.
IMO Carlo did realize that Castellano was a better fit for boss, as he was that “white collar crime” type that the street guys respected less but was a great earner. Dellacroce was a feared enforcer, not an earner. If Castellano hadn’t been so greedy; the guys may never have gone through with the mutiny.
