Welcome. In the Junior School, we help pupils nurture the talents, interests and skills which will see them flourish over the years to come. The school has its own Head, Tim Skipwith, and dedicated team of specialist teachers, whilst being under the overall direction of the Master and benefiting from Senior School staff and facilities.
Contact. Entry at 8+ and 9+. Pupils can join the Junior School at 8+ (Year 4) and at 9+ (Year 5). The deadline for registration is 31st October of the year preceding entry and all candidates sit an entrance test in January before entry in September. There may occasionally be places available for late applicants.

In 2017 while teaching Year 3 at Trinity College I was awarded a National Excellence in Teaching award. This was a great honour as I have a real love for life-long learning and I hope to instill the same in my students. As I continue to strive for excellence I feel very grateful to be a part of the Magdalen College Junior School Team.
Archives. Founded in 1480, Magdalen College School (MCS) played an important part in the history of education. MCS became independent from Magdalen College, Oxford, in the 1980s. The MCS Archive exists to collect and preserve records produced by the school, or relating to the school and its community. The school’s heritage collections include:

The deadline for registration for pre-test applicants is 31st October when boys are in Year 6 at their current prep school. Boys then come to MCS to take our pre-test entrance examinations in the January of their Year 6, along with the 11+ candidates. All pre-test and 11+ candidates sit the same papers at the same time.
