18 de jul. de 2006 · Scott Smith’s wrote one of my favorite crime novels with A Simple Plan that released in 1993. Thirteen years later came his second book, The Ruins which instantly became one of my favorite horror novels. I’ve got my fingers crossed that sometime later this decade he’ll write another one and maybe it’ll turn out to be the greatest sci-fi epic I’ve ever read.
The Ruins is a 2008 film based on a novel of the same name by Scott Smith produced by Ben Stiller, and starring Jonathan Tucker, Jena Malone, and Laura Ramsey.. Two young American couples (Jeff and Amy along with Eric and Stacy) vacation in Mexico.At the pool of their hotel, they make friends with a German tourist, Mathias, and decide to help Mathias look for his brother, Heinrich.
Although the name ‘Ruins’ is inspired by Budapest’s “ruin pubs”—abandoned buildings transformed into watering holes—the bar-restaurant-music venue has Latin roots. Ruins celebrates the agave spirits of Mexico, brandies and cane-based expressions of Latin America and the Carribean with a large collection waiting for you to imbibe traditionally or in a unique tropical cocktail.
