With scripts written by the renowned Johnny Speight, Arthur Haynes' show was exceedingly popular until his sudden death in 1966. Haynes performed a wealth of different roles with his most well-known being the belligerent old tramp ceaselessly trumpeting about his exploits in the Second World War.
