18 de jun. de 2013 · This set collects two of Whitlock's four solo albums from the '70s: Bobby Whitlock and Raw Velvet, both from 1972. Andy Johns produced the self-titled set, where musicians such as Jim Keltner, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Klaus Voorman, Chris Wood, Bobby Keys, Jim Price, the remaining Dominos, and Delaney & Bonnie all made appearances on a modest collection of soulful tunes true to their roots.
Bobby is all over that album, vocals and keys. Try to find any other Clapton album where a fellow musician is so present and vital to the sound and the songs. I get it. I am an old school rock guy, but this album fills that space and time. I would be remiss if I also did not highly recommend Bobby Whitlock & Coco Carmel's Carnival album.
