Za zrobiony w 1968 roku "Alfabet", będący połączeniem filmu fabularnego i animowanego, otrzymał stypendium na stworzenie kolejnego obrazu "Babcia".W 1978 Lynch nakręcił film, który przyniósł mu sławę - "Głowa do wycierania".

David Keith Lynch (født den 20. januar 1946) er en amerikansk instruktør, manuskriptforfatter, producent, maler, komponist samt film- og teaterkunstner. Lynch er formentlig mest kendt som instruktør af filmene The Elephant Man, Blue Velvet og Mulholland Drive og som skaberen af Twin Peaks tv-serien.
