Introduction. The line-up is the usual jazz big band instrumentation - trumpets, trombones, saxophones and rhythm section. We play versions of Supertramp tunes, arranged by members of the band, with me as the chief soloist. No vocals. We will play in Hull (November), Hamburg (December) and Europe next year!

John Helliwell. Born on February 15, 1945, in Todmorden, Yorkshire, England. The saxophonist and occasional keyboardist, woodwind player, and background vocalist for the rock band Supertramp. He also served as an MC during the band's concerts, talking to and making jokes to the audience between songs.
We made the album Crime of the Century and began the long climb to international success, moving to California in the process. Berlin 1977. Breakfast in America was the biggest seller in the world in 1979! 1983. 1986. During a Supertramp hiatus in the nineties, I moved back to England to study at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester .
